Organisation
ArtiBrak is a society of artists. We aim to provide a platform for professional artists and patrons in the region of The Hague, especially the municipality of Leidschendam and Voorburg.
We offer a venue for our members to show and sell artworks at the atmospheric ArtiBrak gallery, located at number 76 Herenstraat, in the historic centre of Voorburg.
Monthly we host new exhibitions of plastic arts and design by our working members and guests.
Volunteers and friends
ArtiBrak society is run completely by a large group of volunteers, who are hosts and hostesses during opening hours, cater at openings, arrange exhibitions, or take care of communications and management.
Would you like to join in and help with our activities? Please send an e-mail to secretaris@artibrak.nl
Financial support is also welcome. Members and friends enjoy a 5% rebate on gallery purchases. For information on donations and conditions please contact the treasurer, penningmeester@artibrak.nl
Board
The current board members of ArtiBrak are Ad Vonk (chair), André Rodenburg (secretary), Teunis Jan van de Varik (treasurer), Rob Minderman and Dirk Boselie.
History
The history of ArtiBrak goes back to the year 1884 when the Dutch artists association Arti & Industriae was founded in The Hague. In 2007 there was a merger with the joint artists’ associations of Voorburg and Leidschendam, BRAK-LKV. Our premises – a listed monument next to the Voorburg town hall – date back to the 16th/17th Century.

The aims of Artibrak
Our artists’ society provides an active and supportive community where artists and art lovers from various disciplines can meet, co-operate and inspire each other. Together with our members and friends the society aims to contribute to the lively atmosphere of the Huygens district in the old town centre of Voorburg.
Through our exhibitions we would like the community to enjoy contemporary art which is being made locally. Many sculptures in public spaces of our municipality were conceived by Artibrak members.
Our society participates in various art events in Leidschendam-Voorburg like the Voorburgse Rondgang, Museum Night or the Huygens Festival. Members can use the gallery for workshops, performances, lectures or networking events.
